OOTD: bold shades and frills

As much as I adore immaculately put together looks, sometimes life just calls for a jumper and jeans. Having a wardrobe full of structured pieces is all well and good until you have approx. 5 minutes to get ready and you have a looooong day ahead. What you really want is something comfy but doesn’t look like you’ve just rocked up in ya pjs – unless that’s your vibe, in which case I say yaaasss gal…

I’ve been a big fan of statement jumpers lately, whether it’s a simple over-sized vibe or covered in pom poms and sequins. I’ve also been Pinterest obsessed and I keep seeing exaggerated ruffles EVERYWHERE, so I had to get my hands on some. Obviously my online hunt began and ended with ASOS (where else?) and I got my hands on this babin’ jumper. It’s exactly what I was looking for – the mustard colour is so bold, the pattern is different to any others I’ve seen and the ruffles are enough to stand-out but still be completely wearable. It’s one of the cosiest items in my Winter wardrobe this year and I’ve been wearing it repeatedly throughout January.

The tan accessories are a little Summer (RIP feet) but I really wanted to add more texture to the look, with suede and fringing and I love how it turned out. The warms tones of the jumper and accessories contrast the black and the rips paired with the block heels gives the look a little edge. I’ve had the jeans on rotation this month with a few of my other favourites pairs but these are by far the comfiest – they’re curve hugging, high waisted dreamboats!

What do you reckon to my statement jumper style?

Love Lucinda xx
