Press for Champagne at Bob Bob Ricard
If there’s one thing I’ve learned in my twenties, it’s that I absolutely, unequivocally NEED a press for champagne button. So I went in search of one and discovered my spiritual home. Oh, and the foods pretty good too…
Introducing Bob Bob Ricard, a place you simply must visit. With our coats taken, we were guided to our own booth, surrounded by seriously art deco styling and armed with the infamous button. After a quick browse of the menu whilst sipping on Ayla Rose*, we decided to skip the starters to save room for dessert, with Jamie opting for the Lobster Mac and Cheese and myself plumping for the Crispy Pork Belly a.k.a total food porn.
The food arrived quicker than expected and the service was incredibly attentive. We dived in and quickly found foodie heaven. The pork was served three ways, with each of them impressing. The dish was served with a Truffle jus which was quite frankly irresistible, especially when paired with a side order of truffle mash (standing ovation worthy flavour balancing here). Jamie’s mac and cheese was creamy and decadent and incredibly filling. The fries got neglected for the most part in favour of the rest.
After another round of champagne for me and whiskey for him (Glenfarclas is his current favourite) it was time for dessert. With no real need for the menu, there was a certain instagram-worthy dessert (that I shared immediately here) that we just had to try… the BBR Signature Chocolate Glory. We also tried out the chocolate truffles, flavoured with Glenfarclas.
The waiter poured molten chocolate over the golden orb, leaving behind a melting pot of gooey chocolate and raspberry coulis. Cue messy plates and a serious need for an afternoon snooze. Full and truly content, we grabbed the bill and pottered off into London to hopefully burn a few of those many, many calories.
Have you been to Bob Bob Ricard? Are you as obsessed with a press for champagne button as I am?
