The super simple, lazy, last minute gift guide!
Firstly, I have to apologies for my accidental absence! Life has taken over the last few weeks, but the semester is finally over and now Christmas is suddenly just nine days away. How on earth did that happen? I’m blaming it on my lack of advent calendar (mine got lost in the post)! For those of you reading this also having a minor breakdown, don’t worry… I too have bought a grand total of 0 gifts. So stick around if you’re in need of a easy peasy gift guide and an idea or two! For family? Food is certainly a safe bet. There’ll be so much of it flying round over the holidays that a little more can’t hurt! Make a hamper with their favourite foodie gifts, throw a bottle of fizz in there and you’re onto a winner. Plus, choosing items they love makes it personal. If your in Leeds, there’s a certain pop up hamper store that you have to check out – Hepworths! I did a full review of the delicious deli HERE. For the boys? You can’t really go wrong with a classic watch. I love the timeless leather styles by Daniel Wellington which you can find HERE. Enjoy 15% off with the code ‘HolidayChee’ too! And if you want to make it personal, you could always have it engraved. And the main event… For the girls? Shopping for the lady in your life might seem like a minefield of shades and sizes but the truth is, there are safe bets that you can rely on… wonder products, festive favourites and little slices of luxury. Of course these all depend on taste BUT you must know at least something about her if you want to by her a gift. This guide is here to avoid the awkward asking what shoe size she is, just because you’re ‘curious’… On the other hand, if your a girly who’s Christmas list is looking a little sparse, it’ll soon be longer than your to-do list! 1. Anything by this brand is generally pretty delicious and one of the most recent Jo Malone releases (you can read more about it HERE) is no exception. The Wood Sage and Sea Salt cologne is a bold perfume that smells exactly like it sounds. It has me longing for Summer by the beach and sea salted wavy hair. Get it here, £82 per 100ml 2. Next up is Christmas in a bottle! Snow Fairy is the super sweet pink shower gel that has graced the shelves of LUSH for the last few years. I went along to the latest LUSH Leeds Christmas event and fell in love with it. With it’s candy floss scent, the skin softening seasonal fave is worth stocking up on! Get it here, £3.75 3. Charlotte Tilbury EVERYTHING seems to be on every girls Christmas Wish-list this year and who can blame them? The Dolce Vita luxury eye palette has all the ingredients for the perfect festive smokey eye look. I’ve only tried it in store but it’s certainly one I’ll be getting my hands on soon, plus it’s so versatile, it’s pretty much guaranteed to suit the lucky lady who finds this in her stocking! Get it here, £38 4. Nothing says Christmas like glitter, and red glitter at that. Add some sparkle with Barry M’s Ruby Slippers nail varnish. It’s by far the best glitter polish I’ve used – I’m talking full glitter coverage – and it doesn’t budge in a hurry! Get it here, £2.99 5. This Benefit wonder product is a hit for a reason. Smoothing out skin and creating the perfect base to hold makeup through day and night – 100% necessary for the party season – the Porefessional is a complete dream. The best news? It turns translucent so there’s only one shade – no mixing up ivory, sand and beige! Get it here, £24.50 6. A good set of makeup brushes make all the difference and Real Techniques are a tried and trusted brand (trust me). If you feel like you’re in at the deep end with this, don’t worry, just go for the Core Collection. With a foundation brush (I use it for concealer), contour brush, buffing brush and a detail brush, it’s got the necessary supplies for a flawless base (plus you’ll look like you know what you’re talking about)! Get it here, £21.99 7. The Triple Performing Facial Emulsion by Benefit is my winter skin saviour! No one wants to wake up Christmas morning with skin dryer than the long forgotten stuffing. Obviously everyones skin is different, but I have normal skin and this is perfect for me – hydrating and it keeps my skins looking plump and fresh. Get it here, £21.50 8. Okay so another Charlotte Tilbury product might have sneaked in here, but they are all just to die for! This contour kit should be in the how to be Blair Waldorf starter kit (yes, I’ve been over dosing on Gossip Girl). They got it right naming this product the Filmstar bronze & glow… celeb worthy cheekbones, yes please! Get it here, £38 Beauty is all well and good but then there are some things that should be for keeps (or just Christmas consumption…) 1. You just can’t go wrong with Jo Malone. The candles are a little pricey but they last forever and completely fill your house with their delicious smells. Grapefruit is my favourite (I love the bath oil too), but there’s a whole range of scents to choose from. Get it here, £40 2. Grafea have just bought out a range of ‘baby’ rucksacks (smaller in size, not for infants…) and they are just leather perfection. There are plenty of shades to choose from, including lavender which I love, but playing it safe with classic black or white will earn you style points! Get it here, £145 3. Start their year off with good intentions. A beautiful, personalised diary from the ever stylish team at Aspinal would definitely encourage me to write down dates to remember. Plus they do a beautiful gift wrap service. It might be cheating but it will look fantastic! Get it here, from £30 4. Nothing says luxury like Champagne, so why not make it extra special with a limited edition bottle of Dom? Dutch designer Iris Van Herpen came up with the gorgeous packaging for the bottle of 2004 vintage. Plus the price tag is probably less than you would expect. Get it here, £135 5. Continuing with the theme of something special, Monica Vinader jewellery has been on my radar for quite some time. Available in gold, silver and my personal favourite, rose gold – it’s really having a moment, I was kindly sent lots of beautiful rose gold Folli Follie items recently, you can find them here – and it can be engraved. What more could you ask for? Get it here, £185 6. Possibly my all time favourite chocolates since I tried them at an event, I’ve got everyone hooked on them. Too much deliciousness for words. I recommend getting the biggest box possible and then eating them all yourself, then going back for more to actually gift. Get it here, from £12.95 7. Okay so Nutella isn’t exactly festive but who doesn’t love it?? And you can have it personalised so hopefully the jar will last longer than the contents do. Now pass me a spoon… Get it in store in Selfridges London, Birmingham or one of the Manchester stores for around £4 Luckily, there’s still time to grab all these gorgeous gifts for Christmas and earn yourself a kiss under the mistletoe. But be quick, Santa will be on his way before you know it! Are you totally last minute with your gifts or are you organised? I’d love to find out in the comments below!
