The Student Lock-In, Leeds*

As a poor student (*cries*) I can’t always afford to buy the clothes I want. And whilst I’d love to spend every day shopping, my bank balance is in opposition.  Luckily for me, I live in Leeds and have a HUGE shopping centre (Trinity) filled with high street shops. The best part? They host a student lock-in event a few times a year. It co-incides with student loan time AND they offer up to 25% off in all my favourite high street stores (Topshop, I’m looking at you).

When Marcus from Trinity contacted me and asked if I’d like to work with them on the Student Lock-In campaign, I jumped at the chance! Trinity is my go to when it comes to clothes (and cooking, my boyfriend and I have a bit of an addiction to Yo! Sushi) so styling an outfit with clothes from my choice of stores was easy peasy. Here’s what I came up with:

With freshers just round the corner, I’m taking you from Back to school → Bar Stool!

Day Time:

The Casual Shirt from Topshop, £30
Super easy to wear and comfortable too, this simple shirt is a wardrobe staple. Wear un-tucked for a more relaxed look or pair with  high waisted bottoms to create a figure flattering shape.
The Pleated Skirt from Topshop, £45
Update a classic piece like the high waisted skirt by going for something a little different like PU material. It keeps this look from being too school girly + the pleats add more texture to your look.
The Chelsea Boots from Office, £75
Ox Blood might as well be the official colour of Autumn, it’s always such a huge hit! Keep your feet toasty in these classic and chic Chelsea boots.
The Kitsch Backpack from Urban Outfitters, £69
I fell in love with this UH-MAZING Snoop rucksack when I spotted it. I can’t help thinking how similar it is to Anya Hindmarsh’s collection featuring vintage cereal box prints. Design Style + High Street Prices = Dream!
The Fierce Notebook from Urban Outfitters, £8
This notebook is beyond cool. Hopefully the fierce lion print might encourage me to take more notes… Though I might just spend my lectures showing off my fabulous notepad!
Night Time:
The Casual Shirt from Topshop, £30
A relaxed shirt can take you anywhere, so it’s a great way to transition from day to night. Just add heels and some statement jewellery and you’re ready to WOW.
The Cara Trousers from Topshop, £32
As made famous by the infamous Miss Delevingne in THAT Topshop campaign (if you haven’t seen it yet, you need to, it’s right HERE) these high waisted leather look trousers have been flying of the rack.
The Strappy Heels from River Island, £45
Heels can take almost any outfit from drab to fab and the ‘barely there’ style heel has been so popular over the past few months. This pair from River Island are upping the style stakes by clashing colours and print, with snakeskin print + monochrome all tied in.
The Two-Tone Clutch from Topshop, £38
Metallics instantly add glamour and this two-tone clutch courtesy of Topshop is no different. It’s the perfect size for your phone, keys, card and lipstick and ideally paired with a cocktail in the other hand!
The Bright Earrings from Warehouse, £10
Move away from plain Jane with some bold and bright accessories. These earrings tie in all the colours featured in the look. Wear with a messy up do for maximum style points.

This year the lock-in will be on the 29th, but you can head over to the Trinity website now to register! If you’re a student in leeds, it’s a must do.

What do you think of my top picks? Would you wear the look? Do you have any amazing student offers in your city? You can tell me all about it in the comments section below.
